Manufacturing finance for business growth

Dunedin Sheetmetals is a small locally owned and operated business supplying electrical meter boxes to wholesalers around New Zealand. They manufacture meterboxes and create a wide range of metal products & custom fabrication services. They use all types of metal - Mild Steel, Galvanized, Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Brass, Copper. Their newest addition/upgrade is their larger "Baykal" press brake and guillotine. These machines are capable of cutting 4M long and up to 6mm Mild Steel and folding 10mm thick plate. Also in their workshop is a CNC Amada turret punch, which is an excellent addition.

Our Otago-based adviser, Greg Columbus worked with Dunedin Sheet Metals to facilitate a machinery finance solution for their newly installed Press-brake & Guillotine. This has provided them with increased capacity to expand their offering and grow their business.

"Purchasing this equipment was a big deal for us as a small business. We worked with Greg and Finance New Zealand on this because last time I approached our bank they weren't supportive. We felt this was because we didn't owe them any money and weren't seen as a good enough opportunity for them. We decided to try a different way this time.

As a result of Greg's assistance, things were done quickly and we obtained funding for our new press brake and guillotine. The year after, we approached Greg again to see if we could upgrade our work vehicles. As usual, Greg took care of this for us without any problems.

With our newly acquired equipment, we will be able to expand our business and offer a wider range of services.
